Getting to know Aislinn
I was recently asked in an interview how I wanted to be remembered in 20 years. I was completely caught off guard; how do you even begin to imagine that far into the future when you feel life has just begun? I struggled to answer the question, however, I can tell you a little bit about who I am right now.
I am a dual citizen of Canada and Austria. I attended Brookswood Secondary School in Langley, BC Canada where I played under Coach Neil Brown. Together we won 3 consecutive BC Provincial Championships and was named All-Defensive player once as well as MVP in all three tournaments. Coach Brown, Coach Veale and my Brookswood teammates will forever hold an important place in my heart and I cannot thank them enough for being a part of my journey.
Additionally, I played with the Canadian National team since I was fourteen. During that time with them I brought home one bronze and two silver medals breaking a FIBA Junior World’s record with 10 made threes in a single game vs Latvia. It is my goal to continue to represent my country in the Olympics.
Most recently, I graduated from NC State with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and a double minor in Graphic Communications and International Studies (Try to say that fast three times). While at NC State I had the privilege of playing in the ACC with and against some of the best talent in the nation. During this time I broke the NC State’s single season 3pt record in back to back seasons, I joined the thousand point club, and was named to the ACC All-Academic team and 2nd-Team All-ACC. To top it all off we made it to two NCAA Sweet16’s in my sophomore and junior years. Lastly, my team and I won the first ACC Championship for NC State in 29 years and received conference tournament MVP honors.
Though basketball has defined most of my life, in the moments where I find some extra time I enjoy reading, traveling, cooking, and just good old chilling on the couch watching my favorite shows.
